T is a frequent final letter, often as part of endings like -ENT, -EST and -GHT. A confirmed last T is a strong clue that points you toward a handful of common patterns.
Common five-letter -T words
- TOAST, ROAST, BEAST, FEAST, YEAST
- SPLIT, SPENT, BLUNT, BURNT, GRANT
- NIGHT, LIGHT, FIGHT, MIGHT, SIGHT
- FRONT, PRINT, START, SMART
Spot the -GHT trap
When you have a T at the end and a hint of G or H, the -GHT family (LIGHT, NIGHT, FIGHT…) is huge. Don't guess them one at a time — find a word that tests several of the leading letters at once.
Use the vowel
Most -T words hinge on a single strong vowel: the OA in TOAST, the I in SPLIT. Pin that vowel down and the word usually falls quickly.
