Pentord's ten tries feel generous until you waste them. Most lost games come down to a handful of avoidable mistakes in how you read and use the counts.
1. Confusing the two numbers
The first number is letters in the exact right spot; the second is right letter, wrong spot. Mixing them up sends your deductions sideways. Keep them clearly separate.
2. Changing too much at once
If you swap three letters between guesses, you can't tell which one moved the count. Change one letter at a time so every result means something.
- 3. Forgetting the no-repeats rule
- 4. Not writing down what's ruled in and out
- 5. Burning all ten tries without a plan
Slow down
Pentord rewards bookkeeping over speed. Track your letters, move one variable per guess, and those ten tries become more than enough.
