Everyone hits the wall: a couple of guesses left, clues on the board, and no word coming. Before you give up the streak, work this short checklist.
1. Re-read every clue
Slow down and account for each tile. A forgotten yellow letter is the single most common reason a solvable puzzle feels impossible.
2. List the survivors
Say the words that fit all your clues out loud. Cross off any that break a green, ignore a yellow, or reuse a grey. Often only one or two remain.
- Consider double letters
- Consider Y as a vowel
- Consider less common but valid words
3. Take a hint, not a spoiler
If you're still stuck, a meaning clue is enough to unlock most words without spoiling the satisfaction. Our daily answer page leads with exactly that — the definition first, the word only when you choose.
4. Let it go if you must
A broken streak isn't a failure. The players who last are the ones who shrug and come back tomorrow.
